Frequently Asked Questions
How does Boozulator calculate calories and ABV?
Boozulator uses a built-in database of 65+ ingredients with nutrition data based on USDA FoodData Central reference values. When you add ingredients with specific quantities, the app calculates total calories from each ingredient's caloric density and total ABV using the volume-weighted alcohol content of every component. Standard drinks are calculated using the U.S. definition (14 g of pure alcohol per standard drink).
Are the nutrition numbers exact for my specific brand?
No — they're best-effort estimates based on standard reference data. Real cocktails vary depending on the specific brands you use (proof, sugar content, juice freshness, etc.). For most everyday tracking the numbers are accurate to within a few percent, but if you need precision for a specific bottle, check that brand's nutrition information directly.
Does Boozulator work without internet?
Yes. The entire ingredient database, recipe library, and calculator work fully offline. The only feature that uses the internet is the banner ad in the free version — Pro users have a fully offline experience.
What's the difference between free and Boozulator Pro?
The free version includes everything: the calculator, all 30+ recipes, all ingredients, "What Can I Make?", and recipe saving up to a small free limit. Boozulator Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited saved recipes and removes banner ads. There are no subscriptions.
I purchased Pro on another device. How do I restore it?
Open the Pro upgrade screen inside the app and tap "Restore Purchases." Your purchase is tied to your Apple ID, so it should restore on any device signed in with the same Apple ID. If it doesn't restore, contact us and we'll help.
Can I request a refund?
All Boozulator Pro purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests need to be submitted directly to Apple at
reportaproblem.apple.com. The developer has no ability to issue refunds for App Store purchases.
Does Boozulator collect my data?
No personal data is collected by the developer. All your saved recipes stay on your device. The free version's ads are served by Google AdMob, which collects standard ad-targeting data per Google's policies. Full details are in the
Privacy Policy.
An ingredient I want isn't in the database. Can you add it?
Yes — send a request via email. Include the ingredient name and, if possible, a link to its nutrition information. New ingredients get added in batches in regular updates.
Is Boozulator available on Android?
Not at this time. Boozulator is currently iOS-only and requires iOS 16 or later.
I found a bug. What should I do?
Email support with as much detail as you can: what you were doing when it happened, what device and iOS version you're on, and a screenshot if relevant. The more specific, the faster it can be fixed.
